Download a free alphabet scavenger hunt printable to keep the kids busy this summer! They will be learning and having fun at the same time!
Everyone loves a good scavenger hunt, especially kids. So today I have two different versions of a free printable alphabet scavenger hunt for you to use along with the other fun ideas you’ve come up with to keep younger kids busy over the summer.
Why a scavenger hunt with each letter of the alphabet you might ask? The short answer is that a scavenger hunt is a great way to keep your kids busy and the best part, is they are so much fun!
It’s also a fun way to get them to enjoy what’s around them and see things they might not normally see.
A scavenger hunt can also be a great way to open conversations about things and to hear what your kids think about the specific object and then a great teaching opportunity for you to tell them more.

What’s Included in Alphabet Scavenger Hunt
There are two different free alphabet scavenger hunt printables in one PDF file.
The first already has a list of ideas to find that start with each letter of the alphabet. This is great for younger and older kids too! Your older children can even help your younger children read the word.

Then the second abc scavenger hunt is a fill in the blank printable with uppercase letters. All of the letters of the alphabet are on the page with lines next to them.
This one gets the kids thinking more (just like our summer word search printables)!
They have to match items they see in your house or backyard or park (wherever you do it!) with each letter of the alphabet. Then they can write the word (or you can if they are super young).

For some of the items, you can make a sensory scavenger hunt out of it and have your child touch the item with a particular letter and describe what it’s like. Using all five senses, they can describe what it feels, sounds, looks, smells, and possibly tastes like.
