Scattergories definitely holds a special place in my heart. It was my favorite game when I was young.
I vividly remember all the good times I had playing it with my family and even taking it to restaurants to play with friends. We even played the boxed game one night just recently at my cousin’s baby shower!
So I love that creative people have turned it into a classic bridal shower game. I knew I needed to make a game card for you and put my own spin on it.
And with all my free printable bridal shower games, I have three different versions. One plain bridal shower scattergories game with a white background that can go with any bridal shower theme.
Then I have the fun bridal shower game with a greenery background and one with floral designs.

How to Play Bridal Shower Scattergories
You don’t need a lot of supplies to play bridal scattergories (which makes it a perfect game!). You’ll need a printer, copy paper, and pencils or pens.
There are two game cards per sheet. Once you download the printable game below, print out as many game cards as you have ladies on the guest list divided by two.
Then cut them in half. Just like with our editable bridal shower invitations, I always use my paper trimmer to create nice straight lines!
At some point during the bridal shower, hand each attendee a game card and pencil or pen. Set a time limit for 3-4 minutes so the guests can’t think too long!
The game sheet has a list of descriptions that the players need to come up with a word that starts with the letter above it. In normal scattergories, you would roll a alphabet dice and get random letters for each game.
Since there are no dice, there are the letters R I N G at the top of each column. The bridal shower guests will go down each list and write in a word that starts with “r” for each description in the first column.
Repeat for each column using the other letters. How you earn points is to have a unique word!
It’s harder than you think! A player might come up with an answer right away, but if it’s popular then the rest of the players will have the same word and cancel each other out.
As long as no one else wrote down the same answer, a player will get a point for that word. So the object of the game is to come up with the most unique answers!
Just like with Christmas scattergories, if they use two letters that start with the same letter they get bonus points.
For example… for cake flavor, and the top letter was C, someone could get two points for putting down Chocolate Chip (as long as no one else wrote the same thing).
And each play can only use the same word once (so they can’t use a duplicate answer!)
At the end of the game, everyone will go around and share what word they wrote down, crossing it off if someone guessed the same word.
You can have the bride to be or the shower hostess be the judge. People can write all sorts of crazy words that don’t make sense, so someone will have to make the ultimate decision if the word is a valid answer.
After you’ve gone through all four columns, each guest should add up their points on their game board.
The guest with the highest score wins a bridal shower game prize! Make sure to have enough shower prizes in case there are ties in any of your games.

I’d recommend just printing out the games on white copy paper since they will just be thrown away. It’s up to you on if you want to have the print settings at high quality (I think the default is just fine!).
You could also have your local print shop or Office Depot print out the free download of the digital items to save on your printer ink.
