Make cute and easy champagne glass cupcakes with just a few supplies. The perfect dessert for bridal showers, graduation parties, and New Year’s Eve!
I’m just starting to get back into things since hosting my son’s graduation party last week. My kids rarely let me throw parties for them (I know, right??!! This is the stuff I love to do!).
So when he said we could have a party, I started planning and scouring Pinterest for graduation inspiration a few months in advance. Yes, I am a planner!
We were getting the main food catered, so I just needed to find a simple and cute dessert to put out. I wanted everything to be easy and be able to get ready ahead of time.
I stumbled upon a cute picture of a cupcake in a champagne flute and knew that was it! Easy peasy and relatively inexpensive!
I put two of my craft machines to work and had these fun champagne glass cupcakes put together in minutes!
How to Put Together Champagne Glass Cupcakes
If you love to bake, you definitely could make homemade cupcakes, but I ended up ordering 4 dozen cupcakes from my local Winco.
I got half white cupcakes and half chocolate cupcakes with just basic white buttercream frosting piped on top.

- Cupcakes – homemade or store-bought with white icing (I used regular sized cupcakes not mini cupcakes)
- Sprinkles – our party theme’s colors were navy blue, gold, and black so I ordered sprinkles to add on top of the cupcakes
- Champagne glasses – these are the disposable ones I purchased that worked perfectly and came in a pack of 50!
- Candy for inside the champagne flute like M&Ms. I used about 6 lbs for 48 flutes.
- Cupcake topper (optional) – I made the graduation cap cupcake topper (watch video tutorial here) with my WeCreat Vision laser machine, but you can buy cupcake toppers to suit the theme of whatever party you are throwing (like these cute New Years Eve toppers)
- Champagne flute label (optional) – I made these using my Munbyn sticker printer.
Once you have all the supplies you need, it’s time to put together the champagne desserts.
First, I applied the sticker labels I made to each flute. The Munbyn makes it quick and easy to make and print labels in bulk!
You could even make more of the champagne flutes with the custom labels for champagne toasts! Our party was a high school graduation, so we stuck to just desserts.
Up next, add some candy inside the glass. I added about 1/3 cup of M&Ms.
I really wanted to buy only navy blue M&Ms inside (yes you can buy single colors on Amazon!), but I opted to save some money and buy candy from the bulk bins at Winco.
To decorate the cupcakes, I added some color to each one with some of the sprinkles.
And then added in the graduation cupcake topper I made.
Since it was hot the day of the party, I waited until about 30 minutes before people came and set a cupcake inside each plastic champagne flute.
I had all 48 graduation desserts set on my side counter that guests could grab when they wanted.
Or you could walk around with the cupcake glasses on a tray and pass them out!
Easy peasy and people loved them! If you have a big party, you might need some extra small dessert bites for people to nibble on.
I placed the chapstick party favors (custom lip balm tutorial here) near by so party guests could also grab one of those as they left!
Overall a very easy and yummy dessert that would be easy to make for any party!
Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!
