What is the Cricut Craftfest?
The Holiday Cricut Craftfest summit is a free 5-day event to help you craft your way to confidence with 37+ inspiring Cricut projects for all skill levels with a fun holiday twist!
The workshops are Cricut focused but don’t miss out on our Silhouette Surprise and Design Surprise workshops sprinkled throughout the event!
You can learn all the exciting details about the summit over here, but here is a quick overview:
- The summit will run from October 2nd to 6th, 2023.
- Each day will be packed with talented speakers who are ready to help you confidently craft with your Cricut machine to create handmade gifts, decorations, and projects for this holiday season!

My Project for the Holiday Cricut Craftfest
My project will go live on Day 2 or Tuesday, October 3rd!!
You all have been loving the paper crafts and so have I! I love getting back to what I originally started using the Cricut with… cardstock.
This time I’m showing you how to make super cute and elegant lanterns that are perfect for any holiday decor.
For my workshop, I will be giving you two different lantern SVG files. You can use the Cricut Explore family, Cricut Maker, or Cricut Joy for this project (the taller lanterns can be made with the Explore or Maker and the shorter lantern can be made by all three lines of machines)!
We will go over how to upload files into Cricut Design Space, change the lines to score lines, and then cut and put them together!
I will be showing you how to use the foil transfer kit with this project, but it is optional. You can change the snowflakes to use with a Cricut pen or leave them out altogether!

What Cricut machine do I need for the Holiday Cricut Craftfest?
The Holiday Cricut Craftfest features all the current Cricut machine models: Cricut Explore Air 2, Explore 3, Maker, Maker 3, and the Cricut Joy machine. The beauty of the event is that nearly all the craft workshops will work seamlessly with the various Cricut models, with a couple of exceptions.
The Cricut Joy machine faces a few size limitations for certain crafts, but several specific workshops feature just the Cricut Joy to help owners of various machines.
There are a few Maker specific crafts during the event, such as our engraving workshop and wood workshop. Other than that, all the workshops can be followed with all the current models of Cricut machines!
