Get inspired by these Cricut shirt ideas! Most include free SVG files to make your own custom t-shirts with heat transfer vinyl.
I have a lot of posts about how to use Cricut Design Space to make your own shirts and also free SVG files for shirts, so today I thought I’d put them in all in post.
Below I have a list of over 50 shirt ideas made using a Cricut machine. The beauty of making shirts is you can use any Cricut cutting machine.
The Cricut Explore Air, Explore Air 2, Cricut Maker, Cricut Maker 3, Cricut Joy, and Cricut Joy Xtra all have the capability to cut iron on vinyl or infusible ink to make your own design graphic tees.

Before you start a new project, make sure you have all the craft supplies that are needed!
- Cricut machine and cut mats
- Iron-on Vinyl or Smart Iron-on – check out my review of my favorite iron-on vinyl here
- EasyPress Mat or Towel
- Heat Source – Cricut Easy Press, Heat Press, Auto Press
- Or Infusible Inks (transfer sheet or pens)
As mentioned, any of the Cricut machines can cut heat transfer vinyl AKA iron-on vinyl or Infusible Ink transfer sheets to add to a blank shirt.
The materials are heat activated meaning you need a heat source to apply the t-shirt design.
For best results, a heat press like the Cricut EasyPress or Auto Press will provide even and constant pressure to keep the vinyl from fading or peeling over time. A household iron will work, but the transfer usually will not last as long.
And as always, you will need to mirror your design within Cricut Design Space and place the shiny side of the iron on vinyl down on a cutting mat. Once the HTV is cut, you’ll use a weeding tool to weed off the excess vinyl around the cut letters or images.
The HTV will stay on the carrier sheet and when you flip it over, the image will appear the correct way.
Then the next step would be to find out what temperature to press the HTV on the type of shirt you are using. The Cricut heat guide is a huge help in figuring out the proper temperature settings for the different vinyls and materials.
Ok, now on to the Cricut shirt design ideas! A lot of the posts offer free designs to use (or maybe at a small extra cost).
Or if you have Cricut Access (more about it here), there are thousands of ready-made designs or images to choose from. You can personalize t shirts any way you like when you are making them yourself!
