Today I have a fun, easy, and cheap project for you! A cute DIY Painted Pillow. Now this is my first attempt at one, so it’s not perfect, but I still think it’s cute. If you haven’t discovered using freezer paper with your cricut, I suggest giving it a try, it’s so easy and a budget friendly way of personalizing anything you want.
Fun with Freezer Paper!
I first made the pillow out of some remnants I had at home. Then I found this image in Cricut Design Space™. I got some Reynold’s freezer paper at my local super store. Cut a piece out so it fits your mat, load it up, and Cut! Peel it off and place it where you want it on your fabric (before you stuff it!) and iron it on low setting so it sticks down. You’ll need to pull up the inside of some of the letters like e, o, and b and carefully place them on the fabric where they go. This was my first time trying it out so I didn’t get a few places stuck down enough so the paint leaked a little. You’ll never learn, if you don’t try, right?? I used two different colors of chalk paint and a paint dabber to paint it on. I let it dry for a little bit and then peeled it off and presto, that’s it! Put the pillow or stuffing in and sew up the rest. Not bad for a first try! One of my next projects is painting the fabric of the rocking chair, so stay tuned for that! I used this rocking chair with all three of my kiddos and it’s pretty yucky!
Here is another pillow I did with the same method!
Let me know if you try it! What did you make with freezer paper???
