How to Make Pop Up Card
Grab some craft paper and learn how to make a pop-up card! The free printable PDF template is below the instructions.
Tools
- Pencil
- Glue (glue stick or craft glue)
- Scissors
- Ruler
Instructions
- Download the PDF template below, print, and cut out each piece. Use the pieces as templates to trace on colored craft paper or cardstock for all the items. Cut out the flowers, stem, cross, and grass layers with scissors.
- Glue the stems, centers, and flowers together as shown in the image below. Then glue the large grass layer to the middle grass layer.
- Glue the flower leaves to the stem. Then glue the small grass layer over the middle layer.
- Measure the size of the largest cross from the template and cut out a piece of cardstock three times longer than the size of the cross. The card's width should be 3-5 cm wider than the size of the three crosses placed side by side. Fold the card vertically in half and glue a blue piece of craft paper to the card's background.
- Now time to make the pop-up mechanism. Cut out a piece of white cardstock and fold it in the middle. Make two creases on the two ends of the cardstock piece.
- Glue the two creased pieces on the ends to the main card to create the pop-up socket of the card.
- Glue the grass to the front of the pop socket.
- Now glue the large cross to the middle part of the grass section.
- Glue the two smaller crosses on each side of the large cross.
- Glue the two pink flowers on the background behind the small crosses.
- The last step is to glue the red flowers on the center background. That's it! Fold the pop-up card over and see how the crosses pop up when opened!
