In this quick tutorial, I’ll be showing you step by step how to make a cute Christmas tree shaped ornament out of yarn and cardboard, super easy peasy!

How to Make a Yarn Christmas Tree Ornament
Using just a few craft supplies, you can whip up a cute tree ornament in minutes! Perfect holiday craft for kids or students.
Materials
- Cardboard
- Golden or glitter gold paper/ cardstock
- Tape
- Craft glue or hot glue
- Beads
- String
Tools
- Scissors
- Pencil
Instructions
- Draw or trace a triangle shape on a piece of cardboard with a pencil to the size you want the ornament. Cut the triangle shape out. Use tape to attach the open end of a bundle of yarn to the bottom of the cardboard cut out.

- Turn the tree pattern over and apply glue along the bottom edge.

- Align the yarn strand over the glue in a neat straight line.

- Once it's glued securely, start to the wrap the yarn around the triangle horizontally.

- Once you are near the top, take a small piece of string or jute twine and make a loop with it. Tape the the open ends to the cardboard's triangle tip.

- Apply glue to the remaining part of the cardboard triangle.

- Continue to wrap the yarn around the cardboard tree until it's to the top.

- Attach decorative beads, small pom poms or gems with craft glue or hot glue to make ornaments on the tree.

- Trace a small star on to a piece of gold paper/ cardstock and cut it out. Glue it on the top of the tree!

Quick and easy, right??!! This would be a great kid’s activity during art centers at school too!
