DIY Yarn Christmas Tree Ornament Tutorial

In this quick tutorial, I’ll be showing you step by step how to make a cute Christmas tree shaped ornament out of yarn and cardboard, super easy peasy!

How to Make a Yarn Christmas Tree Ornament

Using just a few craft supplies, you can whip up a cute tree ornament in minutes! Perfect holiday craft for kids or students.

Tools

  • Scissors
  • Pencil

Instructions

  1. Draw or trace a triangle shape on a piece of cardboard with a pencil to the size you want the ornament. Cut the triangle shape out. Use tape to attach the open end of a bundle of yarn to the bottom of the cardboard cut out. diy easy tree shaped ornament
  2. Turn the tree pattern over and apply glue along the bottom edge. wrapping yarn around cardboard

  5. Once you are near the top, take a small piece of string or jute twine and make a loop with it. Tape the the open ends to the cardboard's triangle tip. how to tree yarn ornament

  7. Continue to wrap the yarn around the cardboard tree until it's to the top. adding final touches tree
  8. Attach decorative beads, small pom poms or gems with craft glue or hot glue to make ornaments on the tree. add small ornaments as balls to tree
