Instant download of on out of order sign printable to hang anywhere you need! US Letter paper size and in PDF format for easy home printing.
If you are hosting any kind of parties or showers then these next printables might come in handy if you have anything in your house or building that you don’t want someone to use.
It seems like there is always something that you don’t want people or students if you’re a teacher touching or using like a bathroom, coffee machine, or favorite pens!
The item doesn’t even have to be broken, it could just be something off limits on the first day of school or during your child’s birthday party.
The PDF files are at the bottom of the post. Just like our free arrow signs, there is no physical product, just a digital file as a free download to print on your home computer or at a local copy store like Staples or Office Depot.
How to Use Do Not Use Signs

The PDF file will have all three free printables. Once you download the PDF file format, print out whichever do not use sign you want to use or all!
Two of the free sign templates are in black and white with just the words “Do Not Use” in bold. Then the third has a red box on it that says Please Do Not Use. A little more polite for grocery stores or at baby holiday parties!
The printable PDF is sized to 8.5×11 inches or US letter paper size so you easily print on a home printer. If you are just using them as temporary signs, print on regular copy paper or even colored copy paper if you want the black and white text to stand out more.
Best paper options to print sign on:
- white copy paper
- white cardstock
- brochure paper (looks like photo paper for a really sharp image)
For a more permanent sign, I’d recommend laminating the sheets with a laminating machine for best results. Laminated signs would also be ideal for construction sites or a classroom door where they might get touched.
Other places to put printable do not use signs:
- on front of door signs of rooms you don’t want people wandering into (grab our free arrow signs to help with this too!)
- as an elevator sign for an elevator that isn’t working or only for employees
- in front of some forms like specific medical forms that you don’t want certain people using
- at a construction site entrance or on certain machines that are not to be used
- if you are a teacher and doing a classroom transformation, you’ll need to keep tiny fingers from grabbing sharp objects or opening doors that are not safe yet. If you are in need of more classroom printables, make sure to grab our free printable classroom jobs and a classroom scavenger hunt!
You can even use with our out of order signs if something is broken!
