Hi Friends!! I have a few more posts on my bonus room/ game room remodel! As for all my remodels, my goal was to not spend much money and I really stuck by it for this one. The only thing I paid for in this game room makeover was the wall paint and two bean bags. So, I wanted to share with you how to make an easy DIY coffee table using items you might have lying around.
Here are some tools you might need for this project:
Easy DIY Coffee Table Instructions
Want to know what I used for this coffee table??…. An old cheap bookshelf, plywood and some left over pieces of our laminate flooring! That’s it! I was going to get rid of the book-case that stood in the corner of the room, but I knew I could probably use it for something and lo and behold it worked perfectly.
I took all the shelves out and repainted the whole thing with leftover wall paint – Sherwin Williams Repose Gray.
For the coffee table top, I cut a piece of plywood I had in my garage to the size I wanted (size of 2 of my laminate panels hooked together) with my circular saw.
Then I applied liquid nails to the top and clamped down the laminate.
I let the whole thing dry overnight. I then laid the coffee table top face down and placed the painted book shelf on top.
Then I just screwed them together with my drill. Make sure your screws don’t all the way through so measure first!
Flip it over and that’s about it! Such an easy DIY coffee table! I touched up the paint and painted the edges of the table top and put storage baskets in it to hold xbox controllers and headsets. It’s a great little table for the kids to put their feet up on or cups of water.

You could always keep the shelves in by nailing them in the sides and have multiple bins or baskets! Lots of ways to make it!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Let me know if you have any questions!
