Fall Cricut Projects to Inspire You Today!

Make some easy DIY fall Cricut projects with a few FREE SVG files. Make unique rustic decor, totes, mugs or anything you want!

Hi Friends!!  I can finally say it, Happy Fall!!  It’s official, woohoo!

So, being it’s the first day of Fall and all, I wanted to share with you some fall Cricut projects and give you some this free Fall is SVG cut file.

Last year I made this wood sign and had a Christmas burlap sign on it.  I have meant to make a different burlap sign for each season, but somehow I never got around to it… Wonder how that happens??!!

Well, I have finally made a new one!  Fall is my second favorite time of year (after Christmas), so I thought it would be only fitting to at least get this one done.

First, let’s get inspired by some amazing fall Cricut projects that you should make this year and then we’ll go through how to make this farmhouse home decor sign.

And at the bottom of the post you can grab the free Fall Is SVG file!

Make sure to check out my tutorial on how to make the wood frame out of old fence boards for pretty much free.  The link is above under materials!

For my sign, I cut out a piece of burlap that was 15″ x 18″, which left 1/2 inch to fray.  It’s better to cut too much!  You can always trim off the extra.

Then you are going to cut out the file out of heat transfer vinyl / iron-on vinyl.  I used brown for all the words and added some color to the images, but you can use whatever colors you want.  You can make all the words different colors for extra fun!

The download button for the fall SVG file is down towards the bottom of this post.

If you need help on how to upload the file to CDS, click here. (watch the video at the top of that post and make sure to turn on the sound!)

Once you have it in Cricut Design Space, you can ungroup it and take out some of the words if you don’t want them.

Make sure to mirror your image (on the preview page) and place your iron-on shiny side down.  For a full video tutorial on how I cut and weed out my HTV click here.  Here is my brown HTV after I weeded all the extra off.

Applying HTV to Burlap

I’m using my heat press for this but you could also use a Cricut EasyPress2. Check out how to apply vinyl to burlap with an EasyPress 2 here.

I preheated my heat press to 305F.  Press the burlap for 15 seconds to make sure it’s flat and to get out any moisture.

My piece of burlap was longer than my heat-press, so I had to press it in sections.  I lined up my HTV in the middle of the burlap and pressed the top half first.

Then I turned it sideways and pressed the bottom half for 20 seconds.

Then pull off the plastic.  Siser Easyweed is great because you can pull it off when it’s hot or cold.

Then just place the extra images where you want them.  Put a Teflon sheet or wax paper over all of the vinyl and press for another 15 seconds or so.

If yours is large like mine, you will have to press it in two sections.  If you are using an iron, you could probably do it all at once.

Once it’s all adhered, you just need to attach it to your wood.  I just used my tape gun and pressed down the burlap with my hand.

All done!  Put it up or make one as a gift!

Hi Lea, I'm sorry, I wish I knew for sure. My computer decided to delete a bunch of my old files so I can't get into it to take it apart. I believe some of the words are Honied and Autumn Spice, but I'm not sure of the others. Sorry!
