DIY Fall Sign
To check out my original post on how to make the DIY wreath click here. I used the same piece of wood that has “Welcome” on it. I just turned it over and painted the back.
I cut the fall SVG cut file out with my Cricut. (If you want to know what a Cricut is and check out my Ultimate Guide of Cricut Ideas click here!).
This is a great project to use scrap pieces of vinyl. I searched through my stash and came up with these fall colors to use.
Decide which color you want the words and images to be and cut them out using your Cricut mat. Weed all the extra vinyl off.
Applying Vinyl to Wood
Use transfer tape to apply the vinyl to the dry wood. I centered the “Happy Fall” first and scraped it down with my scraper.
Peel off the transfer tape and add the next line of vinyl text.
Place the leaves and acorn in any position you want. That’s the great thing about making your own DIY fall signs. They are totally unique and you have the ability to place words and images wherever you want!
I told you in my last post how I put all my small branches in a bucket in my craft room so I actually don’t lose them!
Every season, I take out the ones I am going to change out and put in the new season’s branches. For Fall, I used these branches and pumpkin I got from Joanns.
Pull out the summer branches and just stick the fall branches into the wood grapevine. Easy Peasy!!
Tie the sign on to some of the wood. You can see the back of my sign when I turn the wreath around! Now, I don’t have to worry about losing the sign! I lose a lot of things as you probably have guessed by now….
I put it back on the door and now I’m all set for Fall!! I just wish the weather knew it was time for Fall!
