How to Make a Paper Fan Flower
Step by step directions on how to make easy paper flowers using the accordion style.
Materials
- Different Colors of Colored Craft Paper
- Paper straw
Tools
- Scissors
- Hot Glue Gun or glue stick
Instructions
- Gather supplies needed to make a paper fan flower. You can make different sizes by using different sized pieces of paper. You'll need two pieces of paper the same size per fan flower.
- Make an accordion fold with the paper. Fold a one inch crease, flip the paper over, and fold another one-inch crease in the opposite direction. Keep flipping back and forth until the entire sheet of paper is in an accordion.
- Repeat the same steps for the other piece of paper.
- Fold both papers in half horizontally. (If desired, use a pair of scissors to cut a rounded petal shape at all ends.)
- Glue their edges together with hot glue or a glue stick. Then glue the two pieces together so it makes a round fan shape.
- Cut a small circle out of the same colored paper or a different color and glue it on the center of the flower. To make the center pop out a little more use self-adhesive foam pieces!
- Finally, glue a paper straw or plastic stick in between one of the flower petals and you're done!
- Make a bunch of different colors of the paper fan flowers if desired and place in a vase or use a hole punch to string them up to hang.
I hope this easy flower paper fan tutorial helped get you started in your decorating for your next party!
