Easy DIY Mother’s Day Pop-Up Card (From Kids!)

Learn how to make a cute flower pot pop-up card for Mother’s Day! Step by step instructions plus a free template!

Today I have another cute and easy paper craft! With Mother’s Day coming up, it’s time to celebrate mothers, mother figures, and grandmothers in our lives.

This cute popup card is fun and easy to make for kids of all ages. With just a few craft supplies you probably have in your stash, you can whip this up in no time!

Write your own sentiment on the bottom of the front of the card to personalize it for the recipient and send in the mail or give along with a gift or flowers.

DIY Pop-Up Mother's Day Card

Easy flower in a watering can pop-up card for Mom or Grandma for Mother's Day or as a just because card!

Tools

  • pencil
  • ruler
  • scissors
  • glue
  • markers

Instructions

  1. Download and print the card template PDF file from below on copy paper. Cut out the watering can with scissors. We will be using this as a template! Choose any color paper for your watering can. I chose a brown craft paper.cut outs for mothers day flower card
  2. Place the watering can template on top of the craft paper and trace around it with a pencil. Then cut out the can. cut out watering can
  3. Use a marker or Sharpie to draw the outlines of the opening and spout on the water can. Get creative! Add polka dots or draw a butterfly on the can. paper watering can craft
  4. Just as above, cut out the flowers, leaves, and stems, from the copy paper and use them as templates on colored paper. Trace around the edges with a pencil and cut out! all cut outs for card
  5. Now, it's time to put the flowers together! Glue the round yellow dots to the center of the flowers. putting flowers together
  6. Then glue the stems to the back of the flowers. adding stems to flowers
  7. Glue the leaves to the flower stems. paper flowers with stems
  8. Use a pair of scissors to make a slit on the watering can where the red line was on the template. Then put the flowers through the slit. putting paper flowers in watering can
  9. Arrange the flowers how you want them and then glue them to the back of the watering can. mothers day flower card diy
  10. Now on to making the card. If you just want to use the flowers in the watering can as decor, you can stop. For the card, you'll want to take a piece of cardstock that is four times as long and about twice as wide as your completed flower and pot image. Then fold it in half. making pop up card easy
  11. Cut two vertical slits on the closed side of the card, about an inch long. back of pop up card diy

  13. If you want, you can use markers or colored paper to decorate the border of the card or add another piece of different colored cardstock to the back. background of mothers day handmade card
  14. The final step is to glue the flower watering can on the pop-up slot so that it pop ups when the card is open! completed mothers day pop up card
