Today I have a free printable neighborhood scavenger hunt for you to use along with the other fun activities you’ve come up with to keep younger kids busy on weekends or over the summer.
I think free printable scavenger hunts are a great way to keep your kids active and the best part is they are so much fun! They also make great outside games for birthday parties.
Kids of all ages love to have friendly competitions at parties and it’s a fun way to get kids off their screens.

You could use this fun neighborhood scavenger hunt during a block party, 4th of July party, or Memorial Day party.
Or do the scavenger hunt with the whole family on your next walk! Kids will learn new ways to look at things they pass every day but never really pay attention to!

The neighborhood scavenger hunt list is one sheet in PDF format. Simply download and print out the scavenger hunt list on regular copy paper.
If you are making the hunt a competition, print out as many as you need for each team.

Older kids can go out on their own to find the items and even turn it into a photo scavenger hunt so they can prove they found the item!
Set a time limit and have the teams walk through your own neighborhood looking for items such as a stop sign, birdhouse, mailbox, fire hydrant, potted plant, fence, tree, rock, and more!
If you live in an apartment, then find a local park to complete this great outdoor activity. Or the next time you go camping or on a vacation, take a scavenger hunt page with you and you will have a fun activity to do with the entire family!

For specific items, you can make a sensory scavenger hunt out of it and have younger children touch the item and describe what it’s like. Using all five senses, young children can describe what it feels, sounds, looks, smells, but probably not tastes like, yucky!
