Word scrambles are a fun game and a perfect addition to a February 14th celebration whether at home or for classroom use. They are pretty easy since all you need is the game sheet and a pencil!
Word scramble games are a great way to keep engaged and working on problem-solving skills and spelling. Kids and adults love word puzzles since it doesn’t feel like work!
Kids of all ages will have to think hard to figure out these Valentine themed words on the word scramble worksheets!
There is an answer key included in the digital file so need to waste your time with your never-ending list of things to do to figure out the short words.
How to Play Word Scramble

This is a fun game and is a great addition to our Valentines Day charades. You only need a few things that you probably have at home to print and play this fun activity.
Both the Valentine word scramble game and answer key are in PDF format and can be downloaded at the bottom of the post.
Once you click on the download link below, you’ll need a printer and white copy paper to print as many copies as you need on a school or home printer.
There are two Valentine word scrambles on one sheet, so print out as many of the printable games as you need divided by two so that everyone has their own copies. Then use scissors or a paper trimmer to cut the two word games apart.
There is the word list of the scrambled words on the left side next to fill in the blank lines. Younger children will most likely need a little help. If the kids are beginning readers, you can always give another printout with the actual Valentine’s Day words and have them figure them out that way.
You can play the Valentine’s game in one of two ways. You can set a time limit (like 3-5 minutes), and the students or guests get to unscramble as many love themed words as possible and the one who gets the most correct answers wins.
If you opt for a timed game, then make sure you have enough prizes since you might have more than one winner with the highest number correct.
Or you can have the students or party guests work on the free Valentine themed word scramble at their own pace and the first person who gets all the answers to the word scramble puzzle is the winner of the game.
After the game is over, go over the answer sheet with everyone so they can check their own answers. Give fun prizes to the winner if you want!
