Winter and the holiday season are upon us, crazy! And as much as I complain about the heat here in Northern CA, we seem to go from 90F days to 50F which is cold for us.
No snow, but it’s nice to know we are getting close to the winter season and everything that comes with it – Christmas, family, cold winter months, stress… lol!
I’ve been busy getting new free printables ready for you to use and today I have winter handprint crafts.
Little hands will have so much fun watching animals and winter apparel come to life after they press their hand prints or fingerprint on these free pages.
Super fun winter crafts that are perfect for home, church, preschool, or at school if you are a teacher. Grab a few art supplies and have fun making some art projects!

What’s Included in Winter Handprint Crafts
To make handprint crafts, put some paint on a paper plate and let it disperse so it will be big enough to fit a hand. For young children, you will probably have to help them hold their hand down flat in the paint.
I have two sets of PDF files below to download. One has all 8 blank art sheets like this handprint penguin page in black and white.
The second set has pages of what the project can look like with a handprint on it. These pages are for inspiration only! You don’t have to use the exact same colors as shown. Let the kids decide and get creative!
Here is the winter handprint penguin craft with all the different winter colors. You can use black paint, grey paint, or even blue paint. There are a lot of different types of penguins out there so let the kids use all different colors of paint!
After they have their handprint on the worksheet, they can use their fingerprint to add a white belly to the cute penguin!
Then they can always color in the extra winter images like snowflakes with crayons, markers, or colored pencils, or grab a paintbrush and let them practice their fine motor skills and paint!
You can print the pages on white cardstock (which is more sturdy for paint), colored cardstock, or construction paper if you want a colored background. If you use colored paper, you can use white paint.
Those little fingers will look so cute in brown paint on this reindeer handprint craft! You can add a red pom pom on the nose and have a handprint rudolph.
Cute polar bears are up next. Kids of all ages will have more fun if there are extra embellishments to add.
Put out other craft supplies like googly eyes, pom poms, different sizes of buttons, sequins, and foam snowflake stickers, and let them get crazy!
Playing with paint is the perfect winter craft when you are stuck inside on snow days! Fun projects will keep your children busy and also make cheap and cute Christmas decorations.
Add dimension to the winter worksheets by gluing white cotton balls onto the base or tassels of the mittens.
For the winter hat craft, you can add sequins, white pom poms, or even some glitter to the top of the snow hat!
Your child’s hand makes the perfect owl feather! Any kind of handprint art makes great keepsakes too. There’s just something about snowy owls that make an adorable winter craft.
And if you are a penguin fan like I am, I have an entire list of cute penguin crafts here.
Or if you like printable crafts, check out EasyPeasyandFun.com for another cute winter craft. She has a list of the best ideas for winter craft projects including a toilet paper roll craft, paper snowflakes, winter trees, and a lot of snowman crafts!
